Faculty of Journalism

The Faculty of Journalism at Rana University has always strived to provide standard knowledge and updated skills for students of the journalism field, and this effort will increase in the future.

The Faculty of Journalism at Rana was established within the framework of Rana University in the year 2013 (Solar Hijri) and strives to appropriately train specialized, experienced personnel in the areas of awareness-raising, public education, public advertising, and promoting and influencing public opinion in society. Since this faculty produces the workforce for all institutions of the country, especially media institutions, the conditions and context of teaching and education in this academic institution have been calibrated considering the needs of the time and the values of society. Although achieving this is not an easy task and has always been accompanied by challenges and problems, especially now that the rule of law and establishing order in society is considered one of the pressing necessities of our society.

The important mission and duty of the Faculty of Journalism is to consider the current and future needs of journalism institutions and media in educating the young generation; so that on one hand, it can address the lost role of journalism institutions and media in the matter of public awareness, public promotion, public advertising, and public education through means of communication and the field of journalism, and on the other hand, as a scientific and academic institution, fulfill its scientific and historical responsibility.

A specific feature of the Faculty of Journalism is that teaching is conducted in such a way that specialized, skilled, and professional personnel are trained and presented to the fields of communications, journalism, and media in Afghanistan. This itself makes the implementation of what has proven effective in this institution and paves the way for solving problems much easier in other similar institutions and serves as a guarantee for its implementation in the relevant fields. Theory is the guiding light of journalism, but practice keeps this light burning. Therefore, teaching methods and studies in this field should be considered in both scientific and practical dimensions.
